Terms of Use
Last Updated: April 2026
Welcome to Taximate (www.taximate.co.uk). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Taximate dispatch software, platform, and mobile applications. By registering an account or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Our Philosophy: Taximate provides the platform and technology to empower independent taxi and private hire companies. We do not operate a taxi service, we do not employ drivers, and we do not take commission from driver fares. You remain in full control of your business.
1. Eligibility and Registration
To use the Taximate platform, you must be a legally licensed taxi or private hire operator in your jurisdiction. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to keep your account details updated.
2. Use of the Software
Taximate grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use our dispatch software. You agree not to:
-
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the software.
-
Use the software for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
-
Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the platform.
3. Operator Independence and Control
You acknowledge and agree that:
-
Business Autonomy: You retain full control over your business operations, including setting your own fares, managing your driver pool, and handling customer accounts.
-
Branding: You are responsible for uploading your own operator name and logo, which will be displayed to your passengers to maintain your brand identity.
-
Compliance: You are solely responsible for ensuring your drivers and vehicles comply with all local licensing, insurance, and regulatory requirements.
4. Fees and Commission
Taximate provides the core dispatch software and platform free of charge to operators.
-
No Subscription Fees: We do not charge a monthly subscription fee.
-
No Per-Driver Fees: You may add unlimited drivers to your fleet without cost.
-
Zero Commission: We do not take a commission from the fares earned by your drivers. We reserve the right to introduce optional premium features or third-party integrations in the future, which will be clearly labeled and optional.
5. Data and Privacy
Your use of the platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using Taximate, you consent to the collection and use of data (including GPS location data) as necessary to provide the dispatch services. You are responsible for ensuring that your collection of passenger data via our platform complies with UK GDPR.
6. Limitation of Liability
Taximate provides the platform on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Taximate shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities arising from your use of the software.
7. Termination
You may stop using our services at any time. Taximate reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the platform if you breach these Terms or if your operator license is revoked by local authorities.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes relating to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
